It's really old and was not put in by the current owners so I don't believe its an intentional cover up.The inspector says the foundation doesn't make him nervous, but of course that's one person's opinion and people do miss things.Considering having a structural engineer take a look as ripping out the floors in the basement is out of the question.Any thoughts or suggestions?

However, you need to understand the process well before hiring contractors to limit the likelihood of them ripping you off.All of the being said, I too prefer the buy-and-hold multifamily rental property strategy.
