The first question in my mind is if they're so great, why didn't they realize a year ago that their lease was going to end prematurely for their residency etc. and plan accordingly, i.e. negotiating a longer stay then instead of right now?

My thought is that lack of proper and routine asset maintenance tends to cause a lot of premature deterioration on a lot of commercial properties that I see.
