31 March 2017 | 20 replies
Real estate is a profession and needs to be approached as any other profession, that means some background in the basics of real estate, why RE is different than personal property, types of deeds, valuation approaches, how and why the market reacts, understand zoning, and other aspects of the dirt you're trying to invest in, a house isn't just a truck load of shoes. You also need to understand the rules, regulations and laws, you don't need a law degree but you do need to be aware of business and real estate laws.Best thing you might do is hook up with a real estate agent or broker, work for them, for free if necessary to learn what goes on, what the market is like and why ethical investors do what they do.
