I am not being cynical but the fact is negotiation is about your active vocabulary, body language, Oral communication skills, etc. which are acquired skills.

So…. my strategy was to bid up to 25K (because no-body will be looking to buy in “Podunk” where I live), use the balance of my cash for repairs (NO MY POCKETS AREN’T DEEP) and hope and pray there was nothing nasty or structural going on.

I think the bigger fleet operators need a place to park their idle trailers as well (they usually run a 3:1 trailer:tractor ratio), and seasonal peaks and valleys mean a sizable part of the fleet may not be in use a few months of the year, and needs parking.

All personal choice but buying out leases or fleet vehicles if you have access to that somewhere is the best financial move.
