I would first obtain your attorney's input, second based on that challenge that the restriction includes STR and then meet and discuss this with the members to let them know enforcing their interpretation will likely result in their losing (assuming that's the case).

The way I interpret your phrase is that you will be living in one of the 3 units yourself, while renting out the other two.If this is the case, than you're buying TWO properties, for tax purposes: a personal residence (1/3 of the property) and a rental property (2/3 of the property).
