That's nice but why should a landlord voluntarily surrender protection that he or she can have under the law?

I spoke with a rep for the real estate agency in Salem and she confirmed that you have to surrender your PM license to get a broker license. 

I do have proof of residency that I can show in order to get an ID but the state of MO would force me to surrender all foreign ID of CA.  

They didn't respond before, when  I was trying to get them sign property surrender document.

Tenant shall, upon written demand by Landlord, quit and surrender said property to Landlord.

No idea what your contract says, but many contracts are structured so that if the buyer breaches, the buyer can get out of the deal by surrendering the earnest money.
