Not sure what could prompt a sentiment like this.

Why real-estate:Like Robert Kiyosaki says in Rich Dad, Poor Dad, owning a house is a sentimental choice for many, while real estate investors stress the importance of securing assets, not liabilities.

If you take a step outside of the city and into rural California, you would discover the sentiment is very different.

I saw this sentiment expressed across multiple forums in the wake of cancel rent, too, of how it would be sticking it to the greedy "lox eaters" and etc. and etc. 

My sister and I would like to try to keep the house as a rental, one because my dad is very sentimental about his home, and two because we know the rental market and home appreciation in San Francisco is pretty consistent.

@Sarah Bridges - I know I've spoken with you and Bryan, and I'll echo the sentiments of most great minds in this post: STR is the best way to cash flow in the Eglin AFB and surrounding areas.  

I totally understand your sentiments and wanting to save yourself money by listing the rental units yourself and feeling that tech and your professional acumen would suffice to get these units rented and you certainly would succeed but something you have to consider is the value of your time and professional expertise.

As an STR owner I appreciate the sentiment in some of these comments, but let's be realistic.
