You want couches that will withstand the rigors of a rental while understanding that, yes, it's a rental.

The contract is not going to carry the couch outside.So again what happens when you show up to the home the day that the tenant was supposed to be out & they are not home & all of their belongings are still inside?

Your best bet is to crash on someone's couch until you have a job then start hunting for your own place.

Not that my couch/entertainment center/dresser/whatever was any better quality or cheaper than the competition, but the buyers usually commented about how good the items looked.

As for smoking we don't allow it even so we had someone set a couch on fire.Your application will be a little different, include majors and do a web search on them for your screening.
