A lot of the US market - housing, stock, treasuries, etc - is basically a legal money-laundering location for honest or ill-gotten gains in the rest of the world, because the markets are open to foreigners and as close to a guaranteed safe haven as can be found.

Being a curious person, I gained an interest in real estate investing due to other classmates being interested in real estate.

Over time, as you gain more experience and capital, you can consider expanding into multifamily properties once you've built up a solid foundation in real estate investing. 

Capital gain is nothing like the cities though.

You have to see huge appreciation to see any gain. 

Yes you are losing out on market gains but you are gaining appreciation on the property, cashflow from rents, tax benefits, etc..... 

Most syndicators are not very motivated to put together profitable deals because they make money by putting together the syndication itself.As I've mentioned, not all of my passive investments have done great, but in aggregate they have done better than average because none of them have any of the items mentioned above. 

Are you prioritizing short-term gains over long-term wealth?

There are sites out there like passive pockets as well as this site where you can find out a lot from people who have invested with that fund.
