Our standard contracts will not allow a change in lender without written permission from the seller, so I'm not sure why your agent is trying to introduce this, especially if it's after the appraisal.

I wouldn't waste my time (which is what you will be doing) if you don't get both on the same page.Even is the hubby is the only one on the mortgage - she will wield a lot of influnce either way.Spend your time talking to the sellers together and once you have her on board - then you can start with the permission to talk to the bank etc....Trust me on this I have wasted a ton of time dealing with couples where one of them is not on the same page as the other and it normally is a complete waste of everyones time.Time is $$.And if you think that there are no good opportunities in Houstan TX - then you are not looking in the right places - I woudl focus on finding more deals.

In fact, to do so before 9/11 without verbal permission from the traveler was considered assault and a security officer could have gotten arrested for it.
