When I complained about that to the woman who let me into the apartment, she said that yeah, the guy that does the leasing tells everyone that. 

I also rent one of my properties to two adult woman. 

I convinced him that as a single woman and a good tenant, he should help her get rid of the rat.  

The final nail in the coffin was the woman saying her father managed apartment complexes for years and she was very familiar with landlord/tenant law.

There could be a single woman with a son and daughter that gets a two bedroom voucher from one office, but the same family type gets a three bedroom voucher at another office.

I had this happen once on a woman that owed me $2,300.

People like that they can legally earn some extra income and the whole thing came out really cute.

We also have another tenant who got abandoned by her husband soon after moving in and ended up falling three months behind in rent, but rather than evict a family that included an elderly and sickly old woman we rode it out, she got help from friends and church, and we set up a program for her to pay her rent in weekly installments, rather than monthly, until she eventually caught up her rent after two years - she's now been with us for 6 years.

Within the 1st month there was a robbery, a vandalized apartment and an assault on an elderly woman by a middle aged couple who sicked their dog on her(no lie).
