Aside from the fact that the current system can't handle the kinds of loads today's society normally puts on a house (single 15amp breaker for each floor, I can't have anything aside from the kitchen light on if I want to run the microwave), there is apparently romex incorrectly spliced into the knob and tube.

Otherwise if your criteria are constantly shifting and the goalposts moving, then what's the point of having criteria in the first place, and how can someone who has traditionally been discriminated against in society (e.g. racial minorities) ever meet them?

You wont see a dime of the $$...So you have to ask yourself if the time, effort and some extra $$ are worth trying to make this issue possibly haunt this tenant in the future....show up when he tries to rent again, buy a house or a car etc.....For some the answer is YES.....I know the $$ is gone but I want to inflict some shred of accountability......if no one EVER does it, these clowns will keep doing it over and over.....someone has to at least try....For others, the answer is NO....its not worth my time and $$, let it go and move on....I understand the economics of the situation....but I hate to let people get away with ZERO accountability....that just contributes to many of the issues in our society
