I live in Garden City, a suburb of NYC.

For example, Garden City, Westland, Redford, Southfield, Hazel Park, Madison heights etc.

I lived there for a time and met all my gardeners, handymen, plumbers, and electricians.

Right now we're evaluating these possible scenarios:1) Buy a renovated, move-in ready brownstone and live in the owner's duplex while renting out a garden 2BR apartment.

My part of the city (Midcity) can turn from "Better Homes & Gardens" to ghetto in the space of a couple of blocks.

Could you see it being a possibility in Crown Heights, Brooklyn Heights, Prospect Lefferts Gardens, or even somewhere like Ridgewood, Queens?
