Don't get emotionally involved, just rip the band-aid off and get him out ASAP.

If you lay floors under the cabinets, good luck replacing or repairing the floors without also ripping up the cabinets (and countertops, plumbing, etc)

The "re-inspection" took less than 15 minutes....It is my opinion that if I am gonna pay you $900 for an inspection, you better get your butt up on a ladder and test the trim to make sure there is lead paint before you decide that I need to hire a de-leading contractor for $1000's to deal with microscopic areas of "flaking paint".Has anyone else felt like they were getting ripped off by these people or is this just common practice?

You don't want GC's ripping you off.

@Johann Jells - I’m about to rip up a 100% slate tile entry way (10x15) in my foyer and replace it with hardwood.

I am about to rip a roof off in EAV  (Atlanta, Georgia) and might need some engineering and architecture help. 

Those houses are among the worst we see, with even the work that was done being done badly, and needing to be ripped out and redone. 

I hear so many stories about contractors ripping off people.
