Corey, it well could be an issue with the regulators as they will see it as a requirement to make the loan and doing so opens the door to the issues I mentioned and perhaps more depending on state laws.Additionally, this may not be a subject to take up with most RE attorneys as financing conflicts are really not their bag, ask an attorney who represents banks or lenders.

I am purchasing a property in Ohio and since I am unrepresented by an agent I am debating having the listing agent represent me as well.What do you think are the pros and cons of purchasing a property with dual agency?

For a long time my feeling has been that the standard 50/50 split between broker representing seller and broker representing buyer was a mismatch in terms of value, work, and results.
