The home was a Habitat for Humanity home and is 10+ years old.  

I buy most of mine at Habitat for Humanity.

You could donate it to Habitat for Humanity or try to sell it to the neighbors.

I've purchased rolls of wallpaper from our local Habitat store (at 50 cents a roll) and used these as shelf liner in kitchen cabinets.Gail

@Tami Brooks  if that's the case the lots have Zero value they only have value to a neighbor to add to their holdings.I just went through that in sacarmento... it killed me but I had an extra lot on a rehab I did I toyed with putting a MH on it.. but building it out the homes sell for less than replacement cost ... so land has zero value.I sold the lot on terms to the only person who would see value and that is the folks I sold my rehabbed home to.. they paid me 15k and I had to finance it long term.. but I got the lot with zero cost as I made profit on the rehab .. so not the end of the world but long story short lots in areas with under 100k housing have zero value.think of much of the mid west and any other areas of the country were homes sell for under 100k in those markets the ONLY one who buys vacant lots are habitat for humans ,, churchs, or if some one is doing a land assemblage for a new bigger redevelopment.

If you have unused surplus you can't return or if anything you removed from the property is in good condition, look into donating to one of Habitat for Humanity's ReStore locations.

My contractor and I went to the local Habitat for Humanity Restore and found a set of cabinets that will work for the house for $775 and they need to be repainted for $200 which drops my cabinet costs by $1200 from my estimates.

Frogtown/thomas-dale is supposed to have several communities attempting to revitalize it (habitat for humanity) and it may gentrify some day being next to midway but its got some major problems and the housing stock is generally pretty terrible.

Bugs,rats etc develop a habitat due to a suitable environment and sources of food, not location.

There are blocks in Newburgh that have been going through a positive change, habitat for humanity, coffee shops, artist galleries but there is still so much drugs, gangs and violence.
