Unless one stands out above the rest, It can protect you from someone accusing you of favoritism 

We haven't seen your actual review, so possibly you only expressed your disappointment in being quoted a marked up product rather than accusing the contractor of being dishonest. 

I just don't like being accused of slander for pointing out a vendor who consistently charges too much for properties.

It also seems that you would accuse any real estate agent that works with a short sale investor in the very least of violating this fiduciary responsibility.

Better knowledge about certain areas, where others are buying and why, as well as the fun of witnessing all the situations of "what not to do" in real estate and learning how to come up with creative solutions to fix it, all on someone else’s dime.
