I said no, it would be an invasion of privacy and I wasn't going to do it. 

Because I'm an agent and all the rules on privacy I don't ask for SS# number anymore.

They are all told that there are privacy issues, identity theft, etc.

If there is damage it gets repaired and the tenant is billed.You are responsible to insure fire and monoxide detectors are working, you need to make sure there are no water leaks and that everything is working as it should.I personally am very respectful of my tenants privacy but with my property at risk, and knowing the majority of tenants are irresponsible, I need to know for my sake everything is OK.If you are not doing regular inspections you clearly do not care about your investment.

I'd prefer a little privacy which is why I was considering either renting a single family or buying an RV.I'm not an hour from friends or family, I'm beside them currently.
