With that, my realtor advised me to take a different house I own in Nebraska and put a HELOC on it since I have a good amount of equity in it.

Also I think NE Minneapolis near U of M.

I've heard people say avoid places like Nebraska or Kansas due to possible tornadoes and I just laugh.

I was born/raised in NE Ohio and would love to look there (or any mid-west market where decent returns can be found), but am concerned about the added expense and risk, of managing RE out of state. 

Without cash, I found I could not compete in Anacostia.The neighborhoods across the river in NE such as Deanwood are exciting. 

A lot of this RA RAH if i can do it anybody can,  is non-sens!
