When you take money someone lost out, buyer or seller, someone was not fully informed, someone was deceived, plain and simple, otherwise, that extra amount sitting on the table wouldn't be there.

Supreme Court resolved a circuitcourt split in defining a “debt collector” as not ("not" being the keyword) including an entity who purchases and then collects on defaulted debt.The judge in this case, Neil Gorsuch wrote, “[b]y its plain terms this language seems to focus our attention on third party collection agents working for a debt owner – not a debt owner seeking to collect debts for itself.”Basically, while the opinion is still narrow, this ruling could have widespread relief upon purchasers of debt from a risk management, compliance, and liability analysis standpoint.
