If he were to publish your information, that would certainly warrant reporting him to the police (and any identity theft people) so you would at least have that, but as a couple other people said, you should be able to put a freeze on your identity information while this is going on.

@Brandon Rauscher Subject2 deals can be tricky and depend ultimately on trust.One way to do it:Seller places property in LLC, then adds LLC as additionally insured to their insuranceThey transfer LLC to you, you give them reps & warrants about making payments on time to protect their credit.You'll need a letter from them giving you Power Of Attorney to discuss loan with lender.

Worst case scenario, is the tenant presents the facts regarding not having heat, and you present that a technician was sent out and that the temperature has not warranted heat for at least a couple months.
