If this is what you do and you are a developer/builder then you could be classified as a dealer with inventory so profits would be recognized as ordinary income. 

Look in classifieds then legal notices.The heading will be Notice of Heirship, Notice of Will, Notice of Probate, etc..In CA newspapers the legal notice heading is Notice of Petition to Administer Estate.

You’d be surprised how often used (2-4 years old) units come up in online classifieds from a reputable supplier.

If you have any employees, this should be offered to you already.Workers compensation coverage is classified as "retrospective" coverage; you have to get insurance certificates from all contractors (where possible), and you have to keep track of the type of work being done by all (especially the uninsured).

To really take advantage of it you need to have the assets classified individually through cost segregation.

If I may ask, I know crime rates in an area is only one piece of the puzzle when classifying area, but what are some other things you take into consideration?

@Renee Burke - the classification is very subjective and there is no government organization, board, or company that classifies locations.

I post on Craigslist, Nextdoor, my work classifieds section, my college alumni classifieds, and sometimes facebook marketplace (but I get more spam and weirdos through that).

@John Silva,  A lot is going to depend on how your accountant classified it on the two tax returns you owned it.
