Curious if anyone here has grown a retreat center network/franchise for spaces that accommodate around 30 people on 10+ acres.

I figure to retreat every 8 years.

If you market it as a couples retreat, or a getaway for a family of 4, and the numbers pencil, it can work.

Do you really think it is so far fetched to think that this will resonate with some people looking for a temporary retreat out of the city? 

York, Wells, and Ogunquit Maine are also great retreats but also fall under more of a summer draw. 

Indeed even the Bay area and silicon valley has seen its share of ups and downs over the last few decades 89 to 94 saw some drastic retreat in pricing of the higher end some of it 50%  .

I think licenses required for having food/beverages/alcohol served on the premise, even if not directly supplied by you, will also need to be considered.If you proceed, you might also consider allowing other events as well, such as corporate retreats/functions.
