Termite Bonds in Georgia

Hi All, have you heard Northwest termite repair bond? Do you recommend this company? I have an investment property in McDonough GA. The previous owner got this bond for the house, now Northwest asked me if I wanted to renew it. I am not sure how good the company is (because I asked them for the documents they signed with the previous owner, I got nothing so far) and how good the bond is. Since I am not living in GA, I only heard that GA is a high risk area to get termite. Just wondering if every investor in GA get the termite bond? Looking forward to hear from you. Thank you.

I don't know Northwest. But yes, it's pretty common to get termite bonds in GA, but it's not a dealbreaker. Most are relatively inexpensive (sub $300).

They honestly don't save you much money as you usually should have a termite person out every year especially if you've seen active rotting. The bond basically just says "if we spray and termites come back and do damage, we'll come and treat and (maybe) repair." There's always some small print on them.

If your house has seen termite damage before, I would renew.

If not, you're probably okay with a $50 check and spray and be good for 12-24 months.
