I currently have a 4/2 SFH/LTR/Section 8 house under contract and I am getting quotes for property insurance.

We have 3 boys who are actively in sports and the location of the house just doesn't work out for us. 

It isn't worth it for them.Another interesting option is to save up and house hack locally.

I did one house I may end up taking a small loss on, we'll see.

Hey @Chi Lo - I actually have a video on my YouTube page about this (lookup ClosedByMo on YouTube).Regarding walls being damp and waterproofed, it means there needs to be waterproofing on the basement retainer walls (this is something you can do post-construction and the contractors would need to dig around the house exposing the basement/foundation to apply the waterproofing). 

This approach could keep things straightforward while accommodating their need for housing.

I am not even sure if the villages offers this type of real estate in which we could “house hack”.
