Living somewhere that you hate will make for a miserable real estate journey and you'll not want to continue.

It has been a great rental and would continue to be one but I think I am ready to sell it!

We're still looking at investing in Aiken, SC and work our way back to Greenville as we continue to grow. 

House Hacking using the VA loan to live on one side while renting the other is great.2.

If you are going to continue buying, you really want a lifelong mortgage advisor in your corner who will help structure loans in your best interest.

House hack another property with a low down payment loan and use the remainder or the proceeds to either renovate or purchase another investment property?  

Thank you Eric.In addition to the rental properties, my wife and I have a paid off house, paid off car, and about $1.4m in retirement accounts, brokerages, and savings.We live in a HCOL area and our expenses are $9.5k per month even though we live pretty modestly.I set out initially to have real estate pay for at least some of my expenses in order to give me more freedom and financial security.Is your wife quitting too? 

Nevertheless, continue monitoring the cracks, and if things progress, consult a structural engineer.
