To make it harder, we live in Los Angeles so I'm unable to go to the wonderful black diamond meetings mentioned.

I have been to a couple of local networking events recently, including Black Diamond and BAREIA - great turnouts and programs at both!

Closest ones to you are Black Diamond in Waltham, which will have it's next meeting in January and the Boston Area REIA which is actually tonight.

There are always diamonds in your own backyard if you look hard enough but I also plan to invest out of state (eventually) so maybe we can work on something or talk shop sometime.Best wishes,Jonathan

When I first moved there in 2002, I lived on Kilaeua ave just above Wikiki on diamond head, and I remember seeing people buy the old 2x4 frame open air houses, which had 1/2" plywood for walls instead of drywall, for over 500k and knocking them down to build a block house.

While others were having to churn for quick cash, I was able to find those diamonds, polish them and then reap the benefits of their increased value.

Hopefully I will get to the Black Diamond meeting that night too since it is not far from there!
