Hi all,

I'm a newbie from East Boston looking to test my hand in real estate at some point over the next year or two, after immersing in the wealth of knowledge on BP. I've been thoroughly enjoying the podcasts, and am reading the U.B.G., and am looking to start connecting with people. I'm particularly interested in buy-and-hold in multi-family properties. I'm somewhat transient at the moment, however, as I might be heading back to business school in the next two years. I currently have an entry level position at an investment consulting firm in Boston. Family and two kids with the wife wanting to wait to make any big ticket investments (you know, like a primary residence...) until after business school. We currently rent, though I was thinking of doing an owner occupant between now and b-school. Any thoughts people might have about the appropriateness of jumping into real estate given my characteristics would be certaintly helpful. I look forward to connecting!

Cheers,

Jason M.

@Cliff H. ,

@Justin Silverio 's Meetup has no selling speakers, and my Black Diamond group has no selling speakers, mentorship programs, classes or even memberships. (URL in my signature.)

The group in Chelmsford, www.newenglandreia.com, has not had a selling speaker in quite a while. Most of the others have selling speakers at least a few times a year.

In fairness to REIA's who have selling speakers, it is quite expensive to run a group, and the commission from the speakers is what pays the bills. Believe me, the meeting fees and memberships don't cover it. :-)
