Not sure that is the case in NJ but just like you have to file your address for service of legal papers as a rental some states require business to have a physical address.

While some states may have a law that says your stuck if they prepay this is not the case in most, if not all states. 

In this case, (in my opinion) real estate is helping keep the economy together. 

One of the things I always make note of (whether for my investment properties or for my personal residence as is the case in this purchase) is the type of plumbing for both supply lines and waste/vent stacks.

I believe you have a voidable contract, you can opt out if hat's the case in your state, but make sure you have proof of this happening before midnight on the day of closing.  

This is not the case in Spain, at least not next to the normal big listing platforms like Idealista. 

If he refuses to be reasonable, you can just pay him what you think it's worth and put the onus on him to take you to court and prove his case in front of a judge.
