TV is a big time waster, lack of exercise kills your machine, reading expands your mind and possibilities, alcohol to excess is fattening and poisonous (I'm a big proponent of the 1-2 glass wine/day, however).

Many in the medical field though are frustrated with pay systems and healthcare reimbursements.. its not all wine and roses :) but the folks I know in medicine like you say do quite well and are intelligent enough to invest wisely.

Just raw land for example drops by about 10X from property on/near lakes like Torch and in tourist towns, to a few miles down the road, or the next town over..Houses IN my town for example, including property, are worth less than it would cost to build one, or even put a decent manufactured house..

We are considering another single family home as a "2nd home" but we plan to spend time at primarily for vacation in but also rent our on a weekly basis during tourist season to help pay expenses.
