In your situation, I would probably consider hiring an attorney.If he is violent or threatening, report it to the police immediately and get it documented.

So, if they threaten to sue over the stuff they left behind (not likely), you can say, well okay, then I'll counter-sue you for all the damage and cleaning we had to do, which cost more than your stuff was worth.  

Because they will kick and scream and threaten to get a lawyer, etc., etc.
