I wonder if I should use odor sealing paint, cleaner or lay something on the floor before installing carpets and vinyl flooring?

If that won't work, there's a slip-in flange that has a rubber gasket on it that seals it to the existing pipe - I've used these on cast iron before.

Now, some might argue that "the seals dried out" and caused the leak. 

Not sure how I feel about this one since you guys sealed up the leaking HVAC or whatever it is when you put the ceiling back in.

I wanted to go in with a paint gun prior to ripping out the carpet and just go nuts priming/sealing everything (since there is a ton of old stained shiplap panelling).

I say unto ye, brothers and sisters: the seals are breaking.Will we pass into a dark age so total, so all-consuming, the light of the world be so dimmed, that we will forget even to read and write?

I just would like to know what are some strategIes other wholesalers are doing in their markets to find these deals, get em under contract, and seal the deal🙌🏽All replies are very much appreciated, no bad answers

If I might throw on my optimism hat though, once they fully move all of the SEAL teams down to the new Naval Coastal Campus from Coronado, the government's attention to the issue *ought* to be higher than ever considering that these guys are out in the water a lot and when you have a state-of-the-art training facility for our elite forces being influenced by polluted water, this becomes a national security issue.  

So, they both rely on the bank appraisal, and seal the deal, unwittingly in most cases, paying top of the value range for similar property.In this way, the market continually creeps up and up, because of the real-world dynamics that come into play.But, call me crazy if you want.

Considering we have @Mark Fries as a resource on this thread, my two cents are not that useful, but from a DIY perspective, what's turned out to be a problem for me in my area is when roofers lay the thin three-tab 25-year GAF shingles over the much thicker original shingles and go cheap on sealing the GAF layer to the original, much thicker shingles.
