Have a strong emergency fund just in case you end up with a bad tenant or a bad deal.If you are not willing to make some of these changes then I would find a job to restore harmony in your house, at least a part time job.

Tim I understand the points your making and I think their valid and true that the government does try to paint an either or situation where only one can be correct.Early science research such as astronomy was done by men of faith, i know that both can coexist and complement each other.Remember in early astronomy galileo and his peers were often religious but still did scientific research.
