FTC is Starting to crack down on these scams

The city is trying to crack down on how the constant influx of short term visitors is detracting from the "neighborhood feel" - I think it's pressure from the hotel industry.

The only two folks I know who are decent owners and are actively investing in the area do boarding houses, and charge by the week for rooms, but the town is starting to crack down on that, along with not allowing anyone to re-zone for multi-family.

Think Florida without the humidity.As the example of Barcelona shows, the local governments will crackdown on city short-term rentals while banning them in the Costa del Sol would make no sense whatsoever.

Ohio is one of the states that's really started to crack down on unlicensed activity. 

At the time I wasn't a great negotiator so I took a brake to really crack down on it.

Airbnb is trying to crack down on fake listings.
