To me buy and hold also seems good, I'm not very interested in flipping as that seems to be a step to far to manage remotely.

This would be more of a multi-family buy and hold play. 

I'd add flipping, buy & hold rentals, private money lending, etc to the list for any investor 'lacking direct knowledge and experience in these investments.'

I've seen some lenders place limits on the number of loans a borrower can hold, but most don't.

Increase in property value as a long term hold until the right number comes around that you were looking for. or b.

Yup half of these ideas are OLD NEWS  I never equate Texas and low tax's LOL also my concern with build to rent subdivisions is not the rent or the first 3 to 5 years but the exit in 7 to 10 years which is average hold time for investors.. 

The Title Holding Trust or Land Trust will keep your name of the public record, but it can also complicate the property ownership and management.
