If you put it good use then the return can be huge - if you are simply a "buyer of stuff" and not a "doer of action" then your loss will be exactly what you spent, plus shipping and handling.

My HVAC guy works with me this way:  Relatively minor repairs:  He does the work at a competitive rate.Major repairs - component replacements: He lets me purchase the unit(s) and he places them in service.Check costs of AC units coming out of Florida:  You can't beat the price and shipping is prepaid.By the way, why are you needing to replace the ductwork?  

THEN it will be time to ship till you drop.

Once you meet with them then the real salesmen ship and talent comes to play..

If you have a good relation ship or can build one with them they do help.
