So though you may care about what your family thinks, don't put that much emphasis on it.

I know when you buy your first home to live in yourself location is very important im just curious if you have to put the same emphasis on it if your going to rent them out.

Its an advanced strategy and something your commercial banker will do for you as value add to your global banking relationship with said bank.If you just have one note and a few grand in the bank with them.. well forget it..

I love the idea of making it more like a social network than a forum (with full page profiles, emphasis on connections, etc).

I am in the midst of converting my former primary SFR in Tracy, CA into a rental; my highrise condominium in Global City, Philippines (bought in 2008 for 50K is now worth 150K) is actually already cash flowing net about 500/month since using Airbnb last year.Matt's adage of "live where you want and invest where it makes sense" struck a cord with me.

You should evaluate not on on a property by property basis but also a global DCR of your entire portfolio.

My goal is to eventually have 250+ doors of passive income and steadily do small fix and flips along the way with the emphasis being on buy and hold.  

This is probably the best advice you've received - emphasis on the "call" part.
