But the way they seem to push every single kid in high school to college now, even when they have no need or desire for a college education, just strikes me as a very bad policy. 

We implemented a 2 strike rule (they can be late once, but after that, they're out).

But I sure sleep well at night....especially this past year knowing that none of my Section 8 tenants went on a "rent strike".

The neighborhood leaves some to be desired, but doesn't strike me as a war zone and I did feel relatively safe in the neighborhood (although would not feel safe there at night walking around the street with no reason to).

Never know when you reach out they just might be ready to invest.When they do have a deal ready strike while the mood is postive.
