Whereas in the old days most month to month furnished rentals were people on the poverty line (Abbot and Costello TV show in the 1950s they lived in a furnished month to month rental) most know are people working in the area temporarily, longer term vacationers, people out patient medical treatment, or people between residences due to home sale, home disaster, or divorce.

@Mark Gruetzmacher @Dave T - take a look at this blog post. http://www.biggerpockets.com/renewsblog/2014/07/10...Dave, do you think that Mark's situation may still qualify for capital gains treatment/investment property rather than Sch C/self employment, because it's a one off flip (Mark, correct me if I'm wrong) purchased with an intention to rent?
