I mean I'd like to be blunt (no pun intended) but I don't want to somehow get myself in trouble. 

invest time with a money manager and invest in REITS or something that is more traditional.. not everyone wants to be a landlord.. so I don't blame her on that score.. but BP being a landlord bias site.. the over whelming majority on this site will side with you and your desire to be a landlord.. but there are Many many other ways to make money in real estate that does not involve tenant drama and Trauma. ( no pun intended.) 

@Sofiya Cherni, Great question I actually know of quite a few of our clients that are looking for help and are in your same boat in regards to flood insurance (pun intended).

However, I am back on here with a different view in mind.I have a career and work in technology but have always felt like real estate offered a great path to “bigger pockets”, pun intended.

Building new houses is very risky at this point in the economic cycle, especially with a highly cyclical industry fueling your buyers - pun intended!
