I have heard of investors purchasing "property" from the homeowner, so for instance Couch, Fridge, Microwave Stove, etc. and that is a way to get the homeowner money.

So I have a tenant that recently called me because the microwave latch broke so the microwave thinks it is open (even though its closed) and won't work.

They didn't rewire the home completely, but rather updated the service, added about 10 outlets, added a microwave outlet, and fixed some problem areas throughout the home that were needing updates (incorrect wire splicing, etc).

Have a SFR with a broken built in Microwave  I put in a call to Howell Appliance repair and will see what type of service / value they provide
