We aren't total newbies; we have some rental properties already, but with the market so tight, we are looking to broaden our approach and haven't tried these methods before. 

This would only broaden the wealth gap which I'm told is a major crisis already

You could look in upstate NY like Syracuse or Buffalo where things are much cheaper But if you're going outside of your home town then you might as well broaden your horizons and look at other out of state markets.

For now I been trying to save as much as possible working overtime when possible to be ready for my 1st official deal lol , I was thinking of going to the rireig myself and hopefully broaden my knowledge base The one thing I can do read and learn and keep my eyes open 

I am currently an Aircraft Maintenance Officer as a career broadening, but will be switching over to Acquisitions/Contracting in a little over a year.Now that that's out of the way.....I first found out about BP through the BP Podcast that I happened to stumble upon one day while looking for a REI Podcast to keep me busy on my 6 hour commute from AR-->MO.....ever since then I've been hooked!

That said I think it makes sense to build a relationship with a law firm who is also knowledgeable about NPLs and new originations (particularly from a compliance perspective) since eventually I want to broaden to that as well.

Realizing how competitive the 2-4 family market is in Rochester NY, I have been analyzing more single family foreclosures in an effort to broaden my opportunities.
