I have built a lot of websites in prior careers but what you will need is a way to show the availability calendar to sync with all your other platforms and the ability to take direct transactions through Stripe or Square. 

One problem I'm running into is that I have to use Stripe for my payment collection for VRBO bookings so it does not automatically collect and remit taxes...trying to set it up to do this through Stripe but it's not as straightforward as one would think 

It literally takes less than 10 minutes to set up free online rent payment at one of the several who offer it for nothing, and another 10 minutes to set up accounts such as Square or Stripe to collect via credit cards and other electronic payments. 

However, I started using Hostaway as the PMS, which requires a Stripe account.

So I'm under 2% for CC fees on most of my channels now, don't have to live with Stripe's 2.9% anymore. 

@John Haelig,From what you've written, I think your first option is to look at 1031ing into a passive investment of some stripe. 

I mean once you talk to them, it's pretty easy to spot if they know what they are talking about.I've work on STRs before and to be honest, it is not the most fun aspect of accounting because the volume of allocating income from all sources (airbnb, vrbo, stripe, direct booking, and so on) to a bunch of random expenses (cleaning, supplies, repairs, advertising, commissions, and all typical real estate expenses).I had to strictly rely on the client's input on what the expenses belong to which property or even units, if the paperwork doesn't say. 

Compare a few direct booking websites/tools and you'll see that most are exactly the same: simple, templated sites with a front-page search/map, property-specific listing pages, and integration with a payment processor, like Stripe.

We used to use Stripe which allowed us to place holds on cards for up to 7 days.
