Hi Geoffry, I am using assured automation flow meters but I still haven't sprung for the wireless gateway  yet (I'm still spending all my money buying properties) but I still hope to soon.

I understand this could be a wireless reader or a data reading device that plugs to a data extension cord. 

We've used the Camelot and Century - both standalone and the older wireless (ZWave) model.  

I've contemplated hardwiring for security,but it seems most systems are wireless these days anyways. 

Is there a thermostat that could have a main hub, but then a secondary sensor/control that is perhaps wireless and could be put in the second unit?

If you want to step it up one more, get one that connects wireless, if you have a wireless connection there, and you can monitor and control them from anywhere.

Since he is trespassing, he can be arrested.You could also look at some wireless cameras to document him coming and causing property damage.

I believe they sell these wireless cams now that may allowe to see from your distance what’s going on in your basement.  

I just use a regular fax machine (actually a multi-function machine - copier, fax, wireless printer).
