Sub-Metering Water - Ohio

Does anyone out there know the cost and process of sub-meter water in Ohio? Do you have a company that you have worked with and would recommend?

I'm asking because there is a triple that I'm considering purchasing. Currently, one unit pays its utilities, and the owners pay the utilities for the other two properties. If I can make each unit responsible for its own utilities, the cash flow will skyrocket! Thanks for the help!

I am submetering my duplexes as I turn them over. I had my regular plumbing company install my first submeter. It cost $750 and has a reader outside that my handyman reads once a month. Since then I have looked into it further and am looking into a product by assured automation at the website flows.com (no affiliation) that will allow me to get the info on the internet with either wifi or if not available, a yearly cell subscription. The submeters are less than $100 and the gateway which can control a large number of submeters is $1000. These submeters can be installed by my handyman. Mike at flows.com was VERY knowledgeable and helpful. My buildium software makes it easy for me to charge water bills so I don't need a billing company.

I did not want to use a submetering company with provided equipment that charges a each tenant a surcharge depending on the level of service that they provide.
