I got a package containing a manual, some supplemental books with links to Internet resources, an audio CD and the account/password to their private-access Website (deal submission online form and other resources, such as basic real estate contracts in PDF format).

I've been looking around the site for a few months but finally got a profile picture set up and figured its time to say hi.I've been working at an engineering company in the Lehigh Valley for almost 2 years (since I graduated college), looking to get started with buy and hold (or any strategy that would make sense at the time) in the next year or so to supplement my income and start working on long term growth.Looking forward to jumping into some conversations instead of just reading!

Some people don't want to turn this into a business, some are satisfied with just flipping a few contracts for the supplemental income.

I'm wondering if it is worth the cost to supplement my direct mail and PPC ads.Has anyone had direct success (a lead that came from a print ad) with small news or magazine print ads?

I'm looking to supplement my income, and use it to buy more properties down the road.I figure by selling the condo, and the $50k I have in savings I can start putting $40-50k down payments on places before the rate hike happens later this year.  

I just wanted to supplement my retirement, not get rich LOL. 

I'm not quitting my day job either.....just one property at a time for now, as supplemental income.By the way, I had never heard of Bigger Pockets until I started searching around to see if other people were doing this….then I stumbled onto a modular flipping article by Mike LaCava.  

We are estimating and hoping for a appraisal of around $130k after everything is completed when we go to refinance again.Like I said when i started this thread my goal is to get into rental properties to help supplement our income.

Now, I don't necessarily want to just walk away from a great career, instead I want to supplement my normal income with passive income.

There are many reasons but just to list few - economy of scale (more scalable, all the expenses will spread over a larger amount of the units), financing you can get a commercial loan with many advantages (assumable, options for supplemental loans ..etc).
