And then that has to be compared with how much it would cost to build/have built a suitable structure in that location.My guess (purely speculation) is that since it would have to be new construction, the return on the dollar invested wouldn't make it worth it.

So you'd probably screen them out of your tenant pool anyway.I think the restriction is more about wanting to specify income source because you think that a person with a particular profession would not be a suitable tenant.

@Wendy Noble I considered buying the paint - but truthfully we are pretty far apart on the colors, so I don't think they will want anything I'd consider as suitable for re-renting (which honestly would be in the beige / white category).

It might not matter now as you live in one unit (I assume) but down the line when you rent both units and need to get 2 rental suitabilities it might be a problem if zoning is not suitable for multifamily.
