You aren't legally obligated to give any information about your tenants.If New Landlord relies to his or her detriment on assurances from Old Landlord that there was nothing to worry about regarding a tenant, then New Landlord could sue Old Landlord for her/his losses.Depending on your jurisdiction, you could be held liable for slander or libel by a tenant, but in almost all jurisdictions, truth is a perfect defense

You won't learn anything if you are so defensive, regardless if the mode of information is less than you'd prefer.The fact that you are even asking if you should rent to any of these applicants shows that you don't know what you're doing.
