Generally roots only get into clay tile pipe or old cast iron that’s leaking at the joints under ground.Getting the pipes jetted on a yearly or biannual basis should buy you many years of no trouble!

I own a few properties built in the 1920's that still have cast iron for the DWV system instead of PVC.BTW, I noticed you live in LR.  

This is quite common in Austin properties built prior to 80s when cast-iron plumbing lines were common. 

Mainly need to eliminate hard water, sulfur and iron.

You need to iron out a good agreement and consider using a partnership if it will be a rental or an S-corp if you are flipping.

Ironically it is easier to schedule an inspection with all that is going on now.

That is why I highly suggest having an iron clad lease and going over that lease in detail with any tenant before they sign.  

Merely watching Iron Chef on TV is not enough.
