I did it mainly for the diversification- I have been looking for a retail opportunity for awhile. 

@Chris B.Many Chinese buyers are investing in the US for the following main reasons:- Immigration- Education (every year 300,000 students from China are arriving in the US for studies)- Diversification/investmentsEach of the reasons above has been increasing significantly in numbers every year and we expect that this trend will continue.

Next, I invested in almost 100% ETFs which seem to offer great diversification as well as less fees.

Guys,I have a couple long term rentals and was interested in maybe diversifing into a vacation rental next.  

But, there are a few other places I'm considering long-term as part of portfolio diversification, in part because I know people there and would have an easier time building connections than a location where I didn't know anyone.

Using a self directed IRA is a diversification play for the IRA.  

Real estate appeals to me from an income / diversification perspective, and I am specifically interested in rental properties and notes. 

Diversification of the town and public transportation within walking distance is important.  

Investing in real estate might be a good idea, diversification is key.
